Where is your storefront?
We are a home-based business, so we do not have a storefront at this time. All of our products are made to order. We are located in Astoria, Queens.
Do you deliver?
We typically offer curbside service, but we also offer courier service delivery for an additional fee.
How far in advance do I need to order?
Because we are a small company, we can only produce a limited number of orders a week. We would suggest ordering at least one week in advance. For larger orders, such as tiered cakes or two dozen + cupcakes, it would be best to reserve at least several weeks in advance.
Do you have vegan options?
We use a very specific meringue-based buttercream to achieve the unique look and taste of our flowers, so we unfortunately do not offer vegan options at this time. But we will let you know once we find a good vegan substitute!
Do you offer gluten free?
We do offer gluten free items, but please keep in mind that all items are made in a facility that uses wheat flour.
Can you make a cake with a fondant design?
At Cottage Cake Witch, we strive to create beautiful cakes that taste as wonderful as they look! This being said, all of our decorations are made of decadent buttercream, which can't achieve all of the same effects as traditional fondant, but we believe is just as beautiful in its own way. Plus you can actually enjoy eating it instead of peeling it off your slice of cake!
My event will be outside, will my cake/cupcakes hold up ok?
As much as we love to see our floral cakes in a state of nature, their lifespan outside will heavily depend on the weather. Our decorations are made with buttercream, which would hold up famously on a brisk, fall day, but likely fall apart on a muggy summer afternoon. Our buttercream is ideally kept at room temperature (68 - 72 Fahrenheit) for serving. The higher the temperature is past this point, the less stable the cake will be. This is something to keep in mind if you are planning on holding your event outside.
